The papers submitted for discussion in this panel should appear in the SPe-J volume dedicated to Kazimierz Twardowski’s, one of the most eminent Polish philosophers, the founder of Lvov-Warszaw School of Logic and Philosophy.

Twardowski’s paper ‘O tzw. prawdach względnych’ (its Polish version presented here will be soon supplemented by its translation into English) was published in 1900 for the first time. The paper strongly influenced discussions held by the Polish philosophers on the notion of truth from that time on several occasions. Alfred Tarski’s ‘Der Wahrheitsbegriff in den formalisierten Sprachen’, s. 261, Studia Philosophica 1(1935) (an improved version of his Pojęcie prawdy w językach nauk dedukcyjnych, Warszawskie Towarzystwo Naukowe, 1933) is the most eminent example of writings published by representatives of Lvov-Warsaw School afrter Twardowski’s essay.

It is quite obvious that comments to Twardowski’s paper should be historical rather than concerning its content. This is not the case of Susan Haack’s paper ‘The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth’ First published in Midwest Studies in Philosophy, 32(2008), 20-35 which also is going to be reprinted in the planned volume. Comments on this paper are invited.
